Journal of Foraminiferal Research
In this study, we set out to investigate benthic foraminiferal species assemblages as tracers for in situ organic matter flux in the northwestern tropical Pacific Ocean.

Benthic foraminifera are used as environmental bio-indicators of sewage into estuary channel and ocean.
Western Pacific Warm Pool
We have explored whether assemblages are sensitive to bottom water temperatures and nutrient levels in the western Pacific using sites recovered during IODP (International Ocean Discovery Program) Leg 363.
Invasive species in San Francisco Bay
Trochammina hadai, first appeared as an invasive species in San Francisco Bay, US, in 1983. We suggest this recent colonization was most likely the result of an introduction by anchor mud on...
Foraminiferal species in Guanabara Bay
Guanabara Bay was characterized through benthic foraminiferal assemblages and its correlations with changes resulted from physical processes in semidiurnal and seasonal time scales.
A freshwater signature in the continental shelf
The present work focuses on freshwater signatures at the sediment-water interface identified using foraminifera and biogeochemical studies. The presence of these microfossils, which indicate...
Tourists trampling Coral Reefs Microhabitat
Our studies revealed that... Differences in microhabitats are likely to be associated with the degree of anthropogenic influence on the inner shelf at Pirangi compared to the offshore Maracajaú area.

Beaches
This study examined sediments and foraminiferal assemblages on the inner continental shelf adjacent in a beach, an important tourist destination in northeast Brazil. Ammonia tepida, an opportunistic and hypoxia tolerant species, was most dominant near the outlet of the heavily urbanized Potengi River.
Coral Reef Restoration
Currently we are working on the newly discovered Açu Coral Reef area in Brazil, and subsequently in 2018 Dr Eichler was invited for the year as Visiting Scholar both at Moss Landing Marine Labs - San Jose State University (MLML), and at the Ocean Sciences Department, at the University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC).

* Foraminifera as Proxies
The use of benthic organisms to evaluate the intensity of disturbance is necessary since effluents discharge in coastal areas tend to accumulate in the bottom
Hydrodynamic Process in a Choked Coastal Lagoon
The aim is to describe the indicator species that provides proxy information on hydrodynamic energy and circulation patterns in the Laguna estuarine system (SC). The area is a choked coastal lagoon connected to the ocean via a single narrow channel.

"Benthic Foraminiferal Ecology"
Addresses climate science which includes benthic foraminiferal analyses that allows for the monitoring and forecasting of local and global environmental impacts – We provide ecological solutions for vulnerable coastal and other areas facing issues like climate change, global warming and cooling, and effects which cause ocean acidification, rising sea levels and extreme weather patterns.
The accessible language used in all chapters facilitates understanding for all readers, while also making this a valuable resource for policy leadership and decision makers.
